Website Concerns Responded To

 Dear Kausar,

It's been a long time since we have communicated. Please cc me on your communications regarding the We Can Foundation.

I do appreciate your willingness to "continue to provide assistance" and I do understand why, at this time, you "decline an advisory role due to my upcoming work schedule and other matters".

I see where you say "I do understand that you are encouraging those affiliated with you to log-in on your website and I am reluctant to that."
To me, it appears that you clearly do not understand why we are encouraging people to join as a member of our organizational website. The We Can Foundation website operates like Facebook, Twitter, and any other website that grants permission for users to contribute content and interact with other users.

Now why would we want our affiliates to contribute content? The best case scenario is where people manage their own content. This is the most efficient and scalable way of multi-user content management. Also, Bridging the Digital Divide (provide access to technology) includes user content creation and ownership. It's a factor in economic empowerment coupled with being the authority on one's self. Yes BLM.  The Digital Divide being the primary reason I joined the We Can Team.

Website Details (FYI)

The Business Web Portal system that I selected to use for the We Can Foundation is http://compo.sr    In the process of selecting Compo.sr I also installed others including
The other portal that I would have considered is http://odoo.com but it was not available on our http://bluehost.com hosting w/ cPanel account.
Please feel free to click on the above links to learn more.

In each website instance a unique user login is required to provide added user access and monitoring of web applications, various modes of user communications and content creation and revisions, that is not available to non-members (those that have not joined).

This is truly voluntary and I respect your choice to opt out of using the automated user system.  There is an explicit Use Policy Agreement that is required during the Join process that establishes, in our case some very basic protocols that we expect to be adhered to.

You also stated that "I like to work with websites that are user friendly, easy to visualize and the programs that you are offering should be available to the public without having to log-in. I do not see that right now."

I'd like for you to explain how user friendly, easy to visualize" Facebook is.

Much of the http://wecan-foundation.net website is available to the public without having to login. And, there will be much more information once we have others contributing content to it.

Case in point being:
Try clicking any of the 14 hyperlinks to the We Can Foundation website (below)
that do not require you to login.
1. The home page having 12+ posts.
2. The Content tab (on the top navigation) has multiple applications
3  The Social tab (next to the Content tab) has multiple applications
4.The About tab (next to the Social tab) has multiple applications

I think those of us who are note the core group - should be able to receive messages directly from you or your board members. I think the public-at-large should also be able to see the programs and what it offers from a website that is simple, bright and with large fonts accessible to young, those with learning challenges.

Good Morning Rev. Washington:
I listened to your message this morning. Inshallah, I hope all is well with you and ongoing developments.
Please kindly note - I think I will need to decline an advisory role due to my upcoming work schedule and other matters that I have already discussed. I can still assist - more so online as I am doing now.
Please do see these two stories. I would recommend that the emergency fund be distributed to your network if possible or posted on your website.
The second is - it would be good to get on US Department of Education email list. For they send out funding announcement. May I suggest if We Can could partner with a higher educational institute or institutes and increase their partnerships to leverage students and funding.
Now on what I can contribute - I can continue to provide assistance perhaps not on weekly basis but assess where the needs are and see if I can provide assistance. What I can do - perhaps offer guidance, some resources, and connections as I see the need.
I do understand that you are encouraging those affiliated with you to log-in on your website and I am reluctant to that. I like to work with websites that are user friendly, easy to visualize and the programs that you are offering should be available to the public without having to log-in. I do not see that right now.

I think we need to see a plan of action for the year before some of us can say we can provide assistance.
I hope to connect with you next week to discuss this.
Meanwhile, have a wonderful day!
Kind regards,Kausar
